Birds galore!

We had another beautiful weekend at the camper. The weather turned out to be really nice unlike the weather channel predicted.

We had many birds come and visit our feeders again. Tonight I'm going to go and get a bird book so I can identify them all!

I don't think I will ever capture another image this like. I call this ninja finch. The poor finch that got chopped was just minding his own business when the "Ninja Finch" attacked.

Two beautiful doves

A little break from the birds. Another beautiful sunset :)

I saved these images for the end. You may recognize this field as I have photographed it quite often. It's right behind the campground and I can see it from our site. I happened to look over when I saw this eagle eating something in the field. I got as close as I could before he flew away.

Eagles are powerful but in their own way, they are so beautiful.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Nature love

I can't believe how fast these past few weeks have gone. I'm terribly behind on writing so you are going to have another photo overload :)  I'm going to start with pictures from around my work.

This goose has been sitting on her eggs for about a week now. I got as close as I could without upsetting her.

These next few pictures are from my trip up to Lake Tomahawk to meet up with Mike. He had been there fishing for the week.

This poor bird was skating around the ice covered bird bath. I felt so bad for him but couldn't help laughing when he tried to move and his legs slid out from under him. I should have video taped it!

After we left Minocqua, we headed to Phillips to see my family. This morning dove was sitting on her nest right outside the courthouse doors.

These next few are from my mom's house.

This nest was in a flower bed near her window. Unfortunately the mother duck has abandoned it.

After our lunch date with my dad and step mom we headed up to the camper. This was the sunset on Friday night.

Now that I've caught you up on the past few weeks, this last one is of Bridger. I love how peaceful he looks sleeping while I work :)

Opening Weekend :)

It's finally here, opening weekend of camping! This day never comes fast enough. The campground actually opened last weekend but the weather hasn't been the greatest, so we waited until this last weekend to go. I'm glad we did because, as you can see, there is still snow on the ground.

I was happy to see that our site was just the way we left it. Well, with a little ice and snow but other that, all was well. We spent the first few hours unpacking, raking, sweeping, and leaf blowing.

Aayla spent it relaxing in my flower bed. Lucky for her that flowers aren't coming up yet.

The first night there was an amazing sunset.

I can't decide which of these I like better.

This is how I spent my Saturday morning :)

The nice thing about going up so early in the year is that none of our neighbors are there. They don't turn the water on until mid May when the danger of freezing is past. With no one else up there, the birds were every where! I sat by the fire with my coffee, my camera, oh, and my husband, too, waiting for every single one of the birds to come to our feeder so I could photograph them.

I had the most difficult time with this cardinal. It never came close and it always hid in the brush. I'm hoping next time we are up there I'll be able to get a better shot.

This bird was very messy. He emptied one whole feeder by himself! Most of it ended up on the ground, but the other birds didn't mind.

Miss Aayla loves the outside time :)

I hope everyone had a great day!

Full Moon

This is going to be a short post as I am feeling a little under the weather. Spring has arrived . . . and so have my allergies.
Last night there was a beautiful clear sky, perfect for photographing the moon. It took me a few test shots to get it right, but the final image is amazing! Can you see the face?

I hope everyone had a great day :)

Warmer days

I think spring has finally come! The birds are making their nests and flowers are finally opening up.

Speaking of birds, I was able to photograph our momma bird who's nest is on our front door. I didn't want to get too close.

My mom stopped to visit and, as she was leaving, I thought I'd check our nest again. I couldn't believe my eyes. She had already laid her eggs. I quickly took this picture and let her be. I can't wait until there are little babies!!!

Miss Aayla is definitely enjoying the spring weather :) She would lay outside in this spot for hours if we'd let her.

I'm so excited that this weekend is our first weekend up at our camper! That to me officially marks the beginning of spring. Be prepared for lots of posts coming of our weekend adventures.

I hope everyone had a great day and is enjoying this weather!
