Cassy and Allan

I was so happy when my cousin and her boyfriend came home this past weekend. It gave us a chance to do some much needed catching up. It seems like life is going so fast and it makes you realize that you need to take the time to stay in touch with family. We met at one of the local parks and visited and did a mini photo shoot as well. Here are some of my favorites from that night.

Wall hanging craft project

I'm so happy I was finally able to do this project. Remember in my post from the day my mom and I went to Ripon? I acquired those two boxes of bolts from YDS and was able to complete the craft idea we saw at Bungalow Quilt store.

I wanted my piece to be three panels wide so I bought a roll of thin batting that cost me about $4 and fabric that was $2.00 a yard. The fabric I bought had a pattern that I loved but it was really stretchy so I wasn't sure how it was going to work.

I started by cutting the batting to fit my first panel plus about an inch and a half. Then I just wrapped it like a present; using a staple gun to tack everything in to place.

Once I had the batting stapled down I cut the fabric the same way and wrapped it.
Here is the first panel complete.
Then I repeated the process for the other two panels.
Here is the finished product :) I'm pretty happy with it. Now I just need more walls to hang all my projects on!

Birthday celebration Part 1

This past weekend we drove up north to celebrate my birthday with my dad. It was nice to get away for a few days because I have been super busy. The weather was warmer than expected and the leaves are already changing.

Once we got around Wausau, the clouds got really dark and we hit a little bit of rain. I love how this picture shows the levels of the clouds.

This picture shows the storm behind us and how blue the skies were once we got through it.

There was one point where the clouds actually looked like mountains.

We were treated to a pretty nice sunset too.

It was nice to finally get to my dads and relax. He made the most amazing meal. We had turkey, potatoes and beet greens. For dessert he made a cake with the most amazing frosting. It was pretty much like marshmallow fluff on a cake. YUM!

It was nice not to have an agenda this time around. I wanted to bring home some old wood to use for craft projects so my dad and I took apart an old outhouse that is on his property. Don't hasn't been used in ages and actually was filled in.

This is the barn. I have a thing for old buildings....

Here is a picture of some of the trees in the field by my dads.

This garage is along the highway and it makes me smile when we see it :)

Check back tomorrow because I finally tried my craft project using those empty bolts from fabric that I blogged about a few weeks back.

Hope everyone had a great day!!!!!

Early Halloween :)

Last weekend our campground celebrated Halloween. We had such a wonderful time last year and now that we are permanent campers it's even better! I had so many ideas and there wasn't nearly enough time to get everything ready. I started by getting our food and drinks together the night before. Beer dip, jello shots, cupcakes and seasoned oyster crackers were on the menu for this weekend with brats and burgers as well :)

The cupcakes were my most fun project of the night. I found a really cute idea in Hello, Cupcake for a cupcake birthday cake. It will make more sense once you see the pictures. I had to make the cupcakes at home and will be decorating them up at the camper.

The first thing we had to do once we got up there was decorate the site! It took a few hours but turned out great.

Saturday was trick-or-treating day. We didn't have nearly enough candy! Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger. We handed out candy for the children, jello shots for the adults and dog treats for the puppies that came to visit :)

I should have known once we set everything out that we wouldn't have enough. Good thing our friends brought extra!!!
Here are the cupcakes all complete :) I think they turned out great! It was our friend Amanda's birthday on Sunday so I thought the Halloween theme worked out great. I hand decorated each cupcake and then my friend Mindy helped me put the candles together from cookies and runt bananas.
Miss Aayla had a long weekend and slept all the way home. Wish I could have done that!
We had such a great time this year and were so happy our friends were able to join us. Can't wait until next year!!!!!!

Kyle ~ Senior Portraits

This evening I worked with a wonderful young man named Kyle. The weather was cold and breezy but at least the rain held off! Here are a few previews from his session.

Liv and Abby ~ Sneak Peek

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing two adorable girls. Liv and Abby were wonderful to work with. We had beautiful weather so the two parks we picked were perfect locations.

Below are some of my favorites from their session.

Bradley Family

Tonight I played with a session I did in June with the Bradley family. They were amazing to work with and their little girl Claire was just a pistol! Here are a few edits I did and some of my favorites from that evening.

                   Such a beautiful couple

This is one of my favorite photos from this session. Claire's face is priceless.

Hope everyone had a great day!!!!
